Let the winter nymphing....begin

Good start to the winter nymphing season yesterday. I should've had some firebeads, and the pink wasn't cooperating with me, but I stuck a few. Brady got a bunch. Here's to many fruitful winter days.

Glad to see there's someone nymphing out there. DePuy's is packed with too many trout and I'm taking them with Shotgun-nymphing.

Great read..

A gem indeed. Did streamers turn any fish?

Satoshi - I have no idea what shotgun-nymphing is, but I'm glad it's working.

Johnny - I'm not the biggest fan of winter fishing anymore, but it's always fun to catch fish. And it was like 45 degrees that day.

Thanks Bigerr.

Will - I suspect they would've. Brady was on the cusp of switching, but then our fortunes changed. Tons of fish on redds, too, which might explain why we were catching more rainbows.

So it appears that the water clarity issue over there has been solved? Is the uppermost access open or still closed?

Josh Bergan said...

Not totally - there was still a touch of green, but it certainly didn't hurt the fishing. I think that generally goes away in the winter, though.
That access is still closed.

My favorite time of year....low crowds! Can't wait to hit it hard after bird season ends.

That's good on the clarity front, that thing was puking mud all summer. Looks like you guys walked up quite a ways.
